Types of Network There are basically six types of network. 1.PAN(Personal area network) This type of network are used for personal level i.e, communication between laptop and mobile, laptop and tablet, computer and printer. PAN can transfer information in both wired and wireless form. The wired communication in PAN is formed through USB(Universal Serial Bus) Cable. The wireless communication is formed through bluetooth, hotspot etc. PAN type of network basically used to send small size files such as music,images. The geographical area of this type of network is a single room. 2. LAN(Local Area Network) The computer network devices such as switches, server, Printer, Computer connected together located in a particular building are local area network.
